Peter and Lana Katykhin, Samuel (red sweater), and Jason are profoundly grateful for the blessing of discovering a warm, welcoming small family church upon relocating to Crescent City four years ago.
As a family of immigrants, Pastor Peter was raised in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, while Lana grew up in Chernivtsi, Ukraine. Their parents immigrated to the United States with them during the 1990s. Peter and Lana represent the fourth generation of family to follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Over the years, Pastor Peter and Lana have had the privilege of serving in various ministries within the local church, including youth ministry, music, fellowship, children’s programs, church committees, and Bible study groups.
The Lord has graciously entrusted us with two sons. Our elder son, Samuel, was recently baptized and now faithfully serves as a sound and camera engineer during worship services. This year, our younger son, Jason, has joyfully transitioned from Sunday school to the youth group.
First Baptist Church of Crescent City has been an extraordinary source of spiritual nourishment and community for our family. It is here that we have witnessed our children grow in faith and publicly profess their acceptance of Jesus Christ.

As we have grown in relationship with the congregation and the wider community, we have embraced opportunities to contribute through various projects and ministries.
